Installation of the software takes place in four distinct steps:
- Hardware installation.
You must be able to see your GSM modem or mobile phone as a COM port in Microsoft Windows. Open Control Panel:Phone And Modem Options and then select the Modem tab to see if your modem has been detected by Windows. Many handsets require you to install software that comes with your device in order for it work as a COM port. For example many Nokia phones use the Nokia PC Suite software.
- Shared Network Folder Creation.
Create a folder on a shared drive and give all appropriate users read/write/delete permissions.
- Install the MO Console.
The console is responsible for sending messages via the modem and tracking delivery receipts. Run Setup and select the "Custom" setup type. When the MO Console is run for the first time it will guide you with a setup wizard.
- Install the SMSWare Messenger client software.
The client software allows users to manage the address book and create messages. When the client is run for the first time it will guide you with a setup wizard.
